A true favorite is hard to pin point. Any date with my husband is my favorite spot to be. I have to say I will always love Rositas near Green Lake in Seattle, since it was the first dinner date we had. Then you can walk around the lake together after eating scrumptious homemade tortillas!
We also like going on breakfast dates...Endolyne Joes in West Seattle is great for breakfast and close to Lincoln Park where you can take a nice stroll on the beautiful beach after eating.

One Valentine's Day, we really had no money to go out for a fancy meal, so my husband and I agreed to not spend any money on each other. My husband made me a delicious meal of shrimp scampi and we ate alone, no kids, by the fireplace. He wrote me a poem for Valentine's Day. Now that may not seem like a big deal to you, but my husband is quite the conservative geek type. It took a lot of courage for him to write a poem. Then he told me that he thanks God for me everyday. I was blown away. Really, I'm no prize. I couldn't believe that he would thank God for ME. That was the most meaningful and precious Valentine's Day ever. : )

My story is not one about romance. Instead it is a reminder to remember the single ladies (daughters, sisters, friends) in your life on Valentine's Day!

Being a single lady during Valentine's day can really be difficult sometimes. I knew someday I'd have someone to spoil me... but until then, it was a little depressing and lonely to see other girls getting flowers and chocolates and jewelry, etc.

Well, one year, my younger brother decided to surprise me and send a half dozen beautiful roses in my favorite color delivered to my door! I was so surprised and it made me feel very special and loved. I knew that while I was waiting for God to bring me that special man, there was still people in my life who wanted to express to me that I'm loved and treasured. That really meant a lot.

So, just a reminder to those of you who have single ladies in your life: Please do something special for them on Valentine's Day to show them they are loved and treasured!
