  • Currently, and this always tends to change as I discover new things, my favorite television show is Prison Break! Yes, it is better than Lost. It is the most addicting serial drama that has been on tv in memory. The shows protagonist Michael Scofield is a man’s man and a true hero. If you didn’t watch Prison Break when it aired on Fox, you owe it to yourself to rent all four seasons on DVD. Oh, and be prepared to stay up late because once you start watching, you’ll have a hard time pressing STOP!

The most obvious answer for me is LOST. But, lest the rest of the known universe say the same thing (except my friend Anthony Trask) I will go deeper and refer to two sleeper shows that I love:

    1. The Good Wife – this is the return of ER’s Julianna Margulies. Great acting and story line.

    2. White Collar – USA Network has been putting out some smart shows lately. This is no exception.

Then my all-time favorite show that is no longer on the air is clearly The West Wing. There has yet to be an equal to this presidential drama. Clever, witty, fast-paced and emotional – The West Wing has it all. Get the DVD’s and enjoy.

LOST is great. No denying that.

My wife always gets mad at me because I like “According to Jim”.

Then there’s pretty much anything on the Food Network.

  • Vin Thomas says:

O wait, thought of another one.

    Shark Tank.

    Great show!

  • Michelle Unwin says:

24 is tops! (Sorry — just couldn’t ever get into Lost.) After that, I’d say Project Runway, Amazing Race, & Survivor or the food shows like Man v Food, the “cake” shows, and Chopped. I’m also looking forward to seeing Minute to Win It!

Ok…I know you’re going to be shocked…wait for it…wait for it…Buffy the Vampire Slayer. With Firefly a close second (it may have even beat out Buffy if it had continued on). Shows that are currently airing? LOST, Dexter, the Tudors.

I seriously don’t remember what I did before LOST. Just recently Melissa and I have gotten into Dexter. Love the show. Totally addicted.

  • As a nation, we would not be where we are now if it weren’t for Jack Bauer.

  • Krister says:

My world stops for 24 and The Office keeps me laughing all week!

    • BoLane says:

There seems to be a lot of talk about 24. Truthfully, I’ve only seen like one episode and I think that Kiefer wasn’t even in that episode.

But I think what’s more interesting, Keifer’s real name. FYI, it’s Kiefer William Fredrick Dempsey George Rufus Sutherland. Crazy. Crazy!

  • Becky says:

I am a girl, so this is allowed, but Gilmore Girls. So witty, charming & hilarious. And it never got boring, which is hard to say for some shows. AND, as much as I hate to admit it, I enjoyed how the show ended; albeit the romantic in me was screaming at the top of my lungs at Rory, she still stuck to her guns. C’est la vie.

  • Steven says:

Star Trek- All of the series!

    2nd CSI

3rd Battlestar Galactica (the newer series on SciFi)

    4 GLEE

  • B dawg says:

isn’t lost no longer on tv cause of its super lameness?

p.s. I am starting my adventure of “24″ seasons 1-7 next week. and have only seen half of the first episode

just caught up with “Chuck” excellent!

  • Dan Sheets says:

Definitely 24…there’s to much intense stories going to miss each week…very well written. Family has season start/ending parties…yes we need prayer!

  • B dawg (Blake Weston) says:

    Glee is excellent

  • Glenn says:

Dirty Jobs is tops for me! I keep waiting for them to do an episode on church work :-)

  • Brad says:

    LOST is a given.

Best dramas: Lie To Me, White Collar, Heroes, and the first 2 episodes of Justified have been epic! I think it will be a great show.

Best comedy: Better Off Ted (unfortunately, too well of a kept secret because it is going off, but catch it while you can!) Community, The Big Bang Theory and Psych (which could also fall into the “drama” category)

Guilty pleasures: Man Vs. Food and Diners, Drive-ins & Dives.
